Artist Comentary of Work:
Bedoon means without, stateless, literally having no passport. I met this man on the Iraq/Kuwait border, his grandfather was sold into slavery from East Africa and the family have lived in the Nedj Desert since. In this work I contrast the noble bedoon with an ignoble modern city and oil station that pollutes most of southern Kuwait. In the middle ground is a white camel in silhouette that is of great value. This work is questioning the current reality of the balance of and lack of power therein.
