About Artist

Maria Fernanda has through time worked on different expressions of art,from landscapes and still life at the beginning to abstract art and figurative later on. Now Maria Fernanda has fused together the abstract and the figurativecreating a new form of art which moves from the real to the unreal, form the expected to the unexpected and from silence to solitude. There are no faces but the spectator is able to perceive how the figures see, listen and feel.

Maria Fernanda Cuartas brings a new aesthetic concept within the figurative genre of Art Deco Nouvelle, which could be translated from French as “a new form of” and her innovations consist on the fusion of this new figurative genre with new freedoms of artistic expression.
