Amaneceres / Sunrises

Born in Bogotá and raised in Mallorca, London-based artist Laura Mila brings a visceral, unfiltered energy to contemporary abstraction. Step into her studio, and you will find her drinking a Colombian iced latte while vintage cassettes play through her AirPods. When approaching a new painting, Laura lets her intuitive process take over. She often starts by using her bare hands to lay down the raw, tactile first layers of her largescale works.

Laura’s artwork maps her personal history, channeling the memories of the places she grew up. And in layering soft tones, vibrant and fluid shapes with signature traces of gold leaf, she explores how light and life dances on a canvas.
