Falling Etching, Brown Edition

Mary Liddle is a British artist and printmaker based in the Chew Valley near Bristol, where she works from a converted barn studio. Trained at Chelsea School of Art and Central School of Art (now Central Saint Martins), her practice spans oils, watercolour, gouache, and traditional etching.

Working between observation and imagination, Liddle creates figurative and surrealist paintings rich in colour, light and narrative. Her latest Alice in Wonderland-inspired series draws on her family connection to Alice Liddell, the original inspiration behind Lewis Carroll’s iconic story.
