Maria Fernanda Cuartas is a Colombian artist based in Cali. She is known for her neo-figurative paintings of faceless human figures, bold colours, and striking visual metaphors. Her work transforms everyday urban and domestic scenes into symbolic, universal narratives.

A self-taught painter, Cuartas works primarily in oil, drawn to its richness, texture, and ability to convey depth, light, and emotion.

Her figures are intentionally anonymous, inviting viewers to project their own stories onto the canvas. Through simplified forms, vibrant colours, and careful composition, each painting becomes a space for reflection and dialogue.

Cuartas draws inspiration from metaphysical art, neo-figurativism, and artists such as René Magritte, Amedeo Modigliani, and Caravaggio. She has exhibited internationally in Bogota, Miami, Vienna, Venice, Barcelona and notable, at a group exhibition in the Louvre in Paris.
